BLEACH EVERYTHING: Richmond Instigators Issue “Facehugger” Via Rue-Morgue Magazine; “Free Inside” 7-Inch Out Now

As Richmond, Virginia’s BLEACH EVERYTHING unloads their Free Inside 7” via Magic Bullet Records, the EP’s closing track, “Facehugger,” is now playing at Rue-Morgue Magazine.

Free Inside is the first proper 7” EP from punk/hardcore ragers, BLEACH EVERYTHING, the band uniting a set of friends previously or currently also hailing from Iron Reagan, Mammoth Grinder, Jesuit, Suppression, and Corn On Macabre and countless others. Specializing in short, fast, loud, violent, and often absurd music, rooted deeply in the DIY punk ethos that gave each member a roadmap toward individual and collective musical longevity deep into adult life, all skills of the trade are on display here.

On the heels of a debut split 7” with Los Angeles-based Vors, released earlier in the year, the Free Inside EP lyrically delivers rants focused on such themes as self-empowerment and, self-reliance, and for its closing track, “Facehugger” showcases the band’s dark horror/sci-fi influences with a rampant space terror chronicle. The track is featured alongside exclusive commentary from BLEACH EVERYTHING vocalist and Magic Bullet Records owner, Brent Eyestone, on the theme of the song itself and on the band as a whole, as this is just the beginning for this rabid outfit.

Get wrapped-up in BLEACH EVERYTHING’s “Facehugger” via Rue-Morgue Magazine RIGHT HERE.

The Free Inside 7” is out now via Magic Bullet Records, available on both clear and black wax available HERE, and available for download HERE and through all major digital outlets.

Watch for updates on BLEACH EVERYTHING with recording news, tour dates and more in the months ahead.

You can read the entire thing here.

“Visual Violence: Brent Eyestone” artist feature (Decibel Magazine)

The fine people at Decibel Magazine recently invited Magic Bullet Records’ Brent Eyestone to pen a guest article about his inspirations and influences surrounding the illustration work that became the cover of the IRON REAGAN Worse Than Dead album.

In the piece, Eyestone walks through 5 unique albums from punk and metal’s past that can be seen as having some sort of historical bearing on what ultimately was produced in the final version of the Worse Than Dead cover. Artwork from all albums supplements the piece, along with songs from each album.

Magic Bullet Records donates 5% of annual web sales to Tony Hawk Foundation

If you purchased any album, compact disc, or other bit of merchandise from the Magic Bullet webstore between November 1, 2011 and October 31, 2012, we are happy to inform you that 5% of ALL webstore sales during that period have been charitably donated to our friends at the Tony Hawk Foundation for tax year 2012. It’s truly a wonderful honor to be able to donate so much to a cause we firmly believe in at Magic Bullet, as the Tony Hawk Foundation has already given away over $3.4 million to help build over 400 skateparks nationwide, typically in low-income areas and to the benefit of underprivileged youth.

Without skateboarding, I would have had very few true outlets for expression growing up. And I likely would have never found out about all the legitimately bizarre and exciting bands that comprised the punk/hardcore scenes of the 1980′s, scenes that shaped my appreciation and outlook for a lifetime to come. Worse, I would have never had the security that, somewhere out there, there were people just like me struggling to figure out where to “fit in.” In short, none of what Magic Bullet Records has become over the last 15 years would have been remotely possible without the influence that skateboarding had instilled in my formative years back in the 80′s. It’s a gift to be able to give back the same opportunities to young people also seeking to figure out who they are while on a board.

As a bonus perk, I’m going to be marking this donation via a secret session with Tony Hawk and 5 VERY special guests from his past on March 2 out in California. Mum’s the word on details, but we’ll be sharing photos from the day’s happenings sometime in spring 2013. Thanks again for all of the continued support of Magic Bullet Records and I sincerely appreciate the gift you’ve all given to kids that need it (whether you knew you it or not).

Magic Bullet & Brent Eyestone feature is Free Lance-Star’s “Weekender” cover story

Fredericksburg, VA’s The Free Lance-Star recently featured Magic Bullet and Brent Eyestone as the cover story in their “Weekender” section. The story appeared as the center spread of this past Thursday’s issue. It covers the label’s roots, the advent of the retail store, information on Moneyball and the label’s licensing side, and various tidbits from the last 15 years of the label’s existence.

We’d like to thank all at The Free Lance-Star (especially Ryan Marr) for all of their attention to detail and care in putting the piece together. We felt that it managed to effectively communicate what we’re about and the sense of humor we have about everything we do.

Magic Bullet 2010 Year-End Podcast Available for Free Download!

As 2010 nears its end, reflection mode has kicked in and I’m realizing what an unbelievable year it’s truly been. If anyone were to tell you that CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE, INTEGRITY, THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, and CHARLES MANSON would not only have records on the same label, but all in the same year, it’s not very likely that you could envision any scenario where that were possible. And yet that somehow happened. CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE‘s S/T (aka The Stereo Record) was unearthed and remastered, INTEGRITY gave us two of the greatest songs the band has ever written, THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS brought their latest studio record over here (our first certified gold record!), and we somehow locked down four previously unheard CHARLES MANSON records for release.

This was all on top of a band new THIS WILL DESTROY YOU pic disc, a YEARS double album, MADE OUT OF BABIESThe Ruiner finally seeing LP treatment, GHASTLY CITY SLEEP‘s debut full length Moondrifts, MEDITATIVE SECT‘s Laceration Points LP, a letterpress/reissue edition of FORENSICSThings to Do… LP, FORENSICS You Don’t Have to Win, But You Have to Fight, and represses galore.

Basically, a lot of shit went down and I fully understand if it was tough to keep up with everything. As a means to show appreciation and perhaps even make sure that nothing slipped through the cracks in your search for new music, I stayed in (this is not a new phenomenon) and put together a podcast (this is a new phenomenon) featuring about 80 minutes of jams and commentary. You can pull it down from:

It was fun making this and I hope you enjoy listening to it.

Happy Holidays,

Eyestone v. Playboy’s Titania Lyn

Never one to stand in opposition of large, natural breasts, Magic Bullet’s own Brent Eyestone was recently given the strenuous task of penning the bio for July 2010 Playboy Vixens cover model and Playmate Titania Lyn. If this sounds like something relevant to your interests, you can read this literary masterstroke here.
