The second press for the THIS WILL DESTROY YOU & LYMBYC SYSTYM Field Studies split LP was issued on three new colors: (top to bottom) Red, Green, and this weird blend we’re calling “Oil Slick.” Basically, with “Oil Slick,” shit just looks straight toxic when held to the light (that’s the stuff coming in from the overhead windows of your parents’ basement, nerd).

The red and green colors are available in the webstore here.  The Oil Slick version was shipped out to actual, physical record stores. You know, like in that one movie about “collecting vinyls.” So you’ll need to leave said parents’ basement in order to acquire it.  You could cheat and wait for someone to put it on eBay down the road, but everyone will totally know you’re not legit.

Anyone else looking forward to the day where people can just be happy with black vinyl and actual music again?  Christ…

Anyway, this LP still contains 3 of the most amazing LYMBYC SYSTYM songs ever committed to tape and the goodness we’ve come to expect from THIS WILL DESTROY YOU.  I’ve always dug the layout Chris and Jared did for this one as well. I realize it’s a huge pain in the ass for retailers (the band names are microscopic, no track listing on the jacket, etc.), but sometimes being retail-friendly just isn’t the point. We make up for that by giving mom and pops their own color.  Happy hunting, dorks!
